We have good news to share! In the coming week, we are planning to make some significant upgrades to our hosting services! It has been work in progress for months, and we are finally ready to take the final steps.

We are currently expecting to begin migrating all sites to new servers on the weekend of March 19-21.  The exact time has not yet been confirmed.  We have multiple servers, so we will be moving them one at a time.  If we find that any aspect is not yet ready for the move, we will delay for a few days. If everything is in place as expected, we plan to begin Friday evening on the 19th.  This is a rather massive undertaking, but we have been working towards this for quite some time.  As we have already begun copying files to the new server, the last step of making final copies and 'cutting over' to the new servers should not require any significant downtime.  However, we all know that the sheer dynamics of such a project can create issues with which we will need to deal.  We have assembled a great team, and will be working hard to make sure the process  is a smooth as possible. 

One important note about making changes in the nameservers.  DNS (nameserver) information will be changed to point to our new servers.  If we currently manage your domain name account, then we will have access to the domains and will make the changes for you at the appropriate time. However, if we do not have access, you will either need to provide that information to us (the domain name, the registrar name and the login) so that we can do it for you, or you will need to make the changes yourself (ns.greenearthhost.com and ns2.greenearthhost.com).  You can find out if we currently have access by doing a whois search of your domain name.  If "our" contact email (@khimaira.com) is listed for the administrator for the account, then we should have that access information and will make the changes.  If "your" email contact information is listed, then we most likely do not have the access information.  In that case, please take time this week to locate your login information and provide to us.  It will be important to make this change at the appropriate time so that your site won't have downtime.  There is a link to a whois search on the information page at GreenEarthHost.info, or you can use any other whois search you choose.

Please note that we plan to be announcing new information as it becomes available and posting to a new site.  Please make note of this site: GreenEarthHost.info  (note the .info extension), as it will have the information you need to know.  This site will be on different hosting servers not impacted by our changes.  We are also in the process of completing many new knowledgebase articles, but you will already have much information available in your new control panel, as there are a variety of tutorials available there. Eventually, all of the old information addressing current features will be replaced with details about the new products and services.

With the new servers, we have a wide range of new products and features available.  There is so much to include that we haven't even finished making the full list!  Meanwhile, you can get an overview here:     If you've been planning to redesign your website or just move to something you can more easily maintain, you might be interested in our new site builder, Joomla or Wordpress.  You can find out more about these and other new features on the overview page above.  We've also increased package space and bandwidth to accommodate your needs.  There is a slight price increase in the price of our two smaller packages, but we are honoring our current price (which has been in place for nearly 10 years) for all existing clients for this year. That means that when your hosting renews at any point this year, we will apply an account credit for the difference between the previous and new prices.  We very much appreciate our client loyalty, and we're happy to continue to provide services at a very reasonable price.  The slight increases for these two packages were necessary for us to operate efficiently and provide the best service we can.  The increased space allocation and new features will be available to all, so you will get the new features at the old price.

In the coming months, we will be introducing even more new features, so stay tuned!  Also, we have always appreciated the fact that our customers frequently recommend us to their friends. That means a lot to us.  We do have our Affiliate program in place, which allows affiliates to earn 8% of any new sales generated from their affiliate link. That means, if you sign up as an affiliate and someone uses your link, you can earn 8%.  Additionally, for a limited period of time, we will also be giving our current customers an additional free month of hosting credit when they refer a new customer to us.  Just make sure your referral tells us you sent them to us!  We will also waive the setup fee for new customers you refer to us, and they simply need to include the code:  prereg  in their coupon code field in the shopping cart when placing an order.  Existing customers always get free setup for additional packages they purchase. Just use the same code, or tell us when you order new packages.  This promotion begins AFTER we make the move.  We want to concentrate on taking care of  getting our current customers on the new servers first!

As noted on the information page at GreenEarthHost.info, we ask that you please send any post migration support requests to this email:  GreenEarthHost@gmail.com .  In the event that mail is slightly delayed in resolving with the nameserver changes, this address will allow us to more quickly respond to your request.  We also ask that you please provide your requests by email rather than by phone.  We will have more staff monitoring email, so we will be better able to respond to your requests promptly.  It also gives us a good tracking of issues and resolutions, which can be very helpful in this process.
